Okay, so nobody has asked me these questions yet, but maybe they will someday. So for now, I will beat the masses to the punch. But if by chance you do have a question, send it to me at authorbarbarafscott@gmail.com.
Is this your only website?
No. I have what I call the official author site. Look at the top of the page and you will find it listed there. I think it is really cool. There is a page on it that I have games and puzzles of dragons to play. My 8 year old daughter really likes it.
Do you have an agent?
Not at this time. I hope to some day. In the mean time, I keep writing and socializing the best I can.
When is the next book coming out?
Ooh, I have been asked this one many times. I don't know. There, now you are still in the dark as much as I am. In truth, I am working on it and have scenes and ideas floating in my mind, not only for the second book I am currently working on, but also the other three that will be need to finish the series. I also recently got another idea for a totally separate book, one I'm not ready to divulge about. But I am half way into the first chapter. But , never fear, I am still focused on the Chasing Dragon series and pushing myself daily.
How will the new book idea be different than the one you already are working on?
No dragons.
Will Chasing Dragons be a movie?
Ha, funny you should ask. Umm, I hope so. Wouldn't that be so cool to see these guys on the big screen. My son, Liam, and I have talked about it. I told him, "Wouldn't that be great to see what goes on in your mom's mind up on the big screen?" He just smiled at me.
Do you have any advice for writers?
I'm not sure if I'm one to give advice just yet. I still consider myself a newbie at all this. Write. You will never start or finish your story unless you force yourself to sit down and write. Life is crazy. I have kids, a job, a husband, and all the time consuming places and people that go along with that. But I still have to sit down and write so I can get these guys out of my head. It is also a sense of accomplishment. Yes, I wrote a book. Is it a big hit? Only time will tell. But I wrote a book and I will never say I never tried.
Do you listen to music when you write?
No. I have read where many authors do listen and they pick out the type of music to match the type of book they are writing. I am not so coordinated. I cannot listen to anything, be it television or music and still focus on the writing.
Who are your favorite authors?
I do have one. Kathleen E. Woodiwiss. She was my all time favorite when I was younger. Other writers have come along that I admire. J. K. Rowling is one of them. Her imagination and the way she puts everything together is amazing. Unlike other writers who can sprout off names, I cannot. I am more of a face person. I can tell you if we have met usually, but if it has been awhile, I may sadly say "who are you?". The same is for books, even movies. I can tell you what they are about, or if I have seen or read it, but when it comes to who played who and who wrote what, and even as far as the title, I would be graded an F in school on the lack of that information.
Who did your book cover?
Gerry Kissell at http://gerrykissell.com/ Check his other projects out. Amazing.
What is your favorite color?
I like deep, dark colors. They are very warm to me. Green is my favorite. I love nothing better than a landscape of green grass and trees full of green leaves. My living room is a dark green and at night, it is very relaxing and calming. Sometimes I think I will repaint with another color, then I sit down in the evening and think, nope, I like it.
I see you call yourself a Christian, do you consider yourself a wacko Christian?
Nope. I do give God the thanks and credit for everything, good and bad. Maybe the good are blessings and maybe the bad are lessons. But during both the good and bad, he is there for me to reach out to and that is my greatest blessing. I don't preach. I just am me and I hope that others can look at me and see him. I will sometimes post things about my belief, but it depends on the situation I may be dealing with. So if you don't want to read about those posts, just skip them. But if you choose to, I hope you are able to receive something from them and not just a bunch of words on the screen. It isn't my place to tell anyone how they are to believe. We live in a country that gives us the right to believe in what we want. As my preacher says, if a person wants to worship a duck, they can worship a duck. That is our right in this country. But it is my place to let them know about my God and let them choose for themselves if they desire to follow after him. I think I would be wrong not to.
